How to Get to the Trail

The trail starts at Praia da Marinha (Carvoeiro) or Praia de Vale de Centeanes. Most people begin at Praia da Marinha.

By Car

  • From Lagoa: follow N124-1 to Carvoeiro, then signs to Praia da Marinha (10 min)
  • From Albufeira: take N125 to Lagoa, then Carvoeiro (20 min)

Parking

  • Free car park at the top of the Praia da Marinha cliff
  • Important: arrive early, before 9am (fills up quickly in summer)

Best direction to walk the trail.

The trail can be walked in both directions, but many hikers choose to start at Praia da Marinha and finish at Vale Centeanes. This route is slightly easier and ends near Carvoeiro, where you’ll find more services such as restaurants, shops, and public transport.

How long does it take to complete the trail?

Timing depends on your pace and the number of stops, but in general:
  • 2.5 to 3 hours one way
  • 5 to 6 hours for the round trip
Stopping for photos, enjoying the views, and resting will naturally extend the hike, and that’s part of the experience!
