A leasing contract is governed by a pre-defined period and mileage, against payment of a monthly rent. In short, it is a type of loan, limited to several years and kilometres.  

In the renting modality, you only pay a monthly amount for the use of the vehicle and all the maintenance services, fuel, cleaning, and possible extra expenses. It may also be necessary to pay an entrance value, for insurance and administrative issues. The costs related to the vehicle management, such as insurance, IUC, among others, are the responsibility of the renting company.   

In terms of contractual period, this type of modality has a minimum period of 1 year and maximum of 5 years. At the end of this period, you can choose to buy the vehicle, paying the remaining value for your purchase, or return it.  

In a renting contract, you have the advantage of not having to worry about paying taxes and fees and of being able to choose the model of car you want to rent. However, you will not be able to make the reservation online and you run the risk of not having the car you want immediately.
